The community is invited to attend Dr. O’Connell’s March 6th presentation:
More than 800 adults in Baton Rouge are currently unhoused, living on the streets and in shelters. The number of unhoused is growing, not just here but across our nation. Knowing how to connect with this population to make a positive difference can be confusing and extremely challenging. James O’Connell, MD, president of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, is nationally recognized for his compassionate/empathetic approach to addressing the needs of the homeless. “Doctor Jim,” as his patients call him, brings his 35 years of experience to show us what he has learned, how he has changed, and new ways of understanding the unhoused who live in our community.
