November 01, 2024 12:16 PM | Chelsey Blakenship (Administrator)

We are proud to spotlight Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Information Center of Louisiana (GRGICL), a remarkable organization founded in 1993 that has been a lifeline for grandparents and kinship caregivers across the state.

The Mission
GRGICL is dedicated to providing vital information and support to grandparents and other caregivers who step into parental roles, often unexpectedly. By offering resources, advocacy, and a sense of community, GRGICL empowers these families to navigate the unique challenges they face while raising the next generation.

A Statewide Commitment
Based in Baton Rouge, this statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit serves caregivers and their families across Louisiana. Whether it’s connecting caregivers to financial resources, providing legal assistance, or offering emotional support, GRGICL is there every step of the way.

Driving Change and Strengthening Families
GRGICL’s top priorities include expanding their capacity through dedicated staff for record-keeping and enhancing their ability to provide statewide assistance. These efforts aim to strengthen their impact and reach even more families in need.

Are you a grandparent or kinship caregiver looking for guidance? Or perhaps you’re someone inspired to support their work? GRGICL is here for you and the families they serve.
